Operation Ocean Shield: http://www.manw.nato.int/page_operation_ocean_shield.aspx NATO’s continued contribution to international efforts to combat piracy off the Horn of Africa, commenced 17 August 2009 after the North Atlantic Council (NAC) approved the mission.
Operation Active Endeavour (OAE):
http://www.jfcnaples.nato.int/organization/CC_MAR_Naples/operations/ActiveEndeavour/Endeavour.htm OAE is part of NATO’s multi-faceted response to the terrorist threat. Its mission is to conduct maritime operations in the assigned area of operations to demonstrate NATO’s resolve to help deter, defend, disrupt and protect against terrorism.
Bosnia (Sarajevo Headquarters): http://www.afsouth.nato.int/NHQSA/index.htm The primary mission for NATO Headquarters Sarajevo is defence reform. NATO is assisting Bosnia-Herzegovina to meet requirements for the Partnership for Peace program and eventually membership in the NATO alliance.
Iraq: http://www.afsouth.nato.int/jfcn_missions/ntm-i/ntm-i.htm NATO is helping Iraq provide for its own security by training Iraqi military personnel, supporting the development of the country’s security institutions, and coordinating the delivery of equipment.
Kosovo: http://www.nato.int/kfor The Kosovo Force is a NATO-led international force responsible for establishing and maintaining security in Kosovo.
