Let me recommend you “How the Mighty Fall” by Jim Collins. Firms oriented but you will see all similarities with NATO.

Mistakes:
- embarking on a programme of such radical change that underlying strengths are forgotten or abandoned;
- destroying momentum by constant restructuring;
- pinning hopes on unproven strategies; and
- hiring a visionary from outside with little understanding or waht make the company great in the first place.</description>
